This 15 day tour explores the majestic mountainous regions of three magical countries - China, Vietnam and Laos. YUNNAN China is where we start the tour, Yunnan is definitely one of the most ethnically fascinating and scenically stunning provinces in all of China. Home to 25 of China's minority groups and over half of all China's plant and animal species. Our adventure tour will take you to Vietnam, where our second country's adventure begins, Vietnam is the land of stunningly varied landscapes - shimmering rice fields, mysterious jungles, and radiant beaches - compose Vietnam's postcards, but the northwestern region is home to spectacular mountains and valleys, as well as the fascinating hill station of Sapa, a colonial retreat created by the French where mountains dip to valleys, discover a bewildering number of minority tribes, most of whom retain unique traditions. Named Montagnards, or mountain people by the French. These colourful folk still live as they have for centuries, forging a life high in the mountains. Easily distinguished by their brilliant tribal costumes, the Hmong, Dai and Tsao are the most conspicuous of the hundreds of ethnic groups in the region. We will visit the capital city of Vietnam Hanoi, the magical city full of activities and ancient lifestyles. We will cross into mountainous Laos and will see the local life is mainly agrarian, with bamboo huts clustered together to form small villages that are home to a rich mixture of ethnic groups. Riding in Laos is like witnessing a country emerging from a time capsule. Isolated from Asia's tourist phenomena until recently, Laotians retain a rare innocence and charm. More than that, the country maintains the most pure of all the Southeast Asian cultures in the region. For these reasons, Laos is considered fondly Southeast Asia's Shangri La, the earthly paradise. The mountain scenery on this tour is nothing short of spectacular and we will finish in Luang Prabang, one of the most atmospheric cities in Asia. With its faded French colonial elegance, Luang Prabang is a wonderful place to rest and explore. After a rest day in Luangprabang, we head north again and back to China and spend a night in Jinghong. We return to Kunming to celebrate our three countries adventure.
