    This is one of the greatest Himalayas adventures. In four weeks you will travel almost the entire length of the Himalayas and Karakorum mountain ranges. On this route, there will be enough time for browsing in the bazaar of Kashgar, visiting some of the oldest monasteries in Tibet, and enjoying the magnificent view of West Tibet by crossing from the elevated desserts of the Changtang to the fearful Taklamakan (the Death Sea) with its charming oasis and friendly peoples. 
    We will start our journey in Kunming and ride to Lijiang, the World Heritage Naxi Town, in 15 days we will be riding on the ancient caravan trails, visiting small villages and Tibetan monasteries. Continue the journey to the holy city Lhasa, where you have spent some days to explore the different lifestyle and existing culture of the roof of the world. Monasteries and shrines are the centre of the religious faith, which plays an important role in their day to day life since from thousand years. In the following days this journey we will cross the great Chang Tang (Northern Plateau) into far-west Tibet through the wildest land on earth. Meeting nomads dwelling in low, black tents, tend flocks of sheep and goats as well as herds of the yak.  Setting up our camp site at the foot of the extraordinary peak of Mount Kailash is the highlight of the journey. Pilgrims of Buddhists, Bon, Hindus and Jains all come to pay their homage to this sacred mountain. Further within the heavily eroded sandstone canyon and valleys of the upper Yarlung River are numerous ruins of ancient cities that once comprised the kingdom of Guge, temples in that area are still intact and contain exquisite murals and decorative motifs with a history of more than ten thousand years. Then we ride to Ngari-the largest city in the far west Tibet, climb some of  the highest passes and cross some beautiful valleys we will follow the western edge of the Taklimakan Desert to Kashgar.


    Brief Itinerary

    Day 1 Laos/China 110KM

    Met by your guide at Mogan border in the afternoon, clear the customs and drive to Mengla County and do vehicles and drivers checks and licensing. Ride 45KM. Afterwards we ride to JInghong for overnight.(120KM)


    Day 2 Jinghong/Lincang 422KM

    We will ride northward to Lincang, terrain gets more mountainous and scenery gets even better. We will meet some local minorities when we ride along the mountain roads.


    Day 3 Lincang/Weishan/Dali(1900m)

    After breakfast, we will start riding pass the mountain pass between Lincang and Dali and descending to Weishan basin where you will see local agriculture and villages. We will stop at Weishan old city for a visit and We will arrive in Dali old town in a good time to explore this cultural city in the afternoon. Dali the walled city, located on the cross road of both culture and trade between Han Chinese and southwestern minorities, is an ancient city of 2000 year of history. (Ride 160KM)


    Day 4  Dali to Lijiang (2400m)

    We leave Dali and ride out the valley and start a long climb before we reach Lijiang. The mountain ride is another highlight of the day. We arrive in Lijiang in early afternoon. Lijaing is the UNESCO world heritage which attracts crowds of visitors all year around. (Ride 90KM)


    Day 5 Lijiang– Shangri_la (3300m)

    We will leave Lijiang and ride to the third deepest Gorge in the world, Tiger Leaping Gorge. We will ride through the gorge and get to Haba Snow Mountain, a simple lunch at a family guesthouse we will continue to Shangri_la County or Gyelthang, is where the Tibetan and Chinese worlds meet. Until recently, it was the northernmost open point for foreign travelers in Yunnan. Zhongdian is now a modern city at the edge of the vast Tibetan plateau. (Ride 279 km)


    Day 6 Shangri_la/Deqin Mt. Kawa Karpo

    The drive to Deqen is simply the best way to view the great variety of landscape in the Great Rivers region. (175KM)


    Day 7  Deqin /Yerkalo /Markam

    Today's morning we will ride to Yekalo and visit the salt fields. Depart Yanjing  in the afternoon and travel along the north of Mekong River valley into Tibet. (208KM)


    Day 8  Markam/Basu

    Today you will cross two high passes, one at around 4800 the other, Mt. Dongdala, at 5009m to Pomda. (360KM)


    Day 9  Basu/Lulang

    Ride to Pomi, at a lower altitude. (280KM)


    Day 10  Lulang/Gandan/Lhasa

    After the long challenging overland trip you will understand why Tibetans regard the journey to Lhasa as one of the most sacred of pilgrimages. (510KM)


    Day 11  Lhasa Rest Day

    You will explore the holy city of Lhasa.


    Day 12 Lhasa – Gyangtse-Shigatse  (3950m)

    Full day picturesque ride to Gyangtse. Visit Kumbum stupa and palchok monastery. Afternoon ride to Shigatse.(Ride 90KM)


    Day 13  Shigatse -Tingri (4200m)

    We will ride to Tingri.(258KM)


    Day 14  Dingri - Everest Base Camp (5100m)

    Ride cross the P ang La we will reach Everest Base Camp. (135KM)


    Day 15-16  Basecamp to Lhasa
    Bike rental Group rides back to Lhasa


    Day 17  Onward flight, transfer to airport.


    Day 15  Everest Base Camp - Saga (4500m)

    After breakfast we start our drive to Saga, enjoying the grand view of Mt. Shishapangma (8021m), Gauri Shanker and other high mountains from the Lalug La (5050m.) Pass. Packed lunch will be served at sacred Lake Pigutso, and we will overnight in a guest house in Saga.


    Day 16  Holy Lake (4500m)

    Drive to Lake Manasarovar (4588m) camp on south side. This is a most auspicious day for all travelers. Today we have our first glimpse of the holy Lake Manasarovar and Mount Kailash. We will camp on the shores of Lake Manasarovar.


    Day 17  Drive to Darchen (4700m)

    We drive to Darchen via Rakshas Lake and Chiu Gompa. It is also a day to prepare for the circumambulation of Mount Kailash (kora). Overnight stay will be in basic guest house or camping.


    Day 18  Darchen-Diraphuk Gompa (4900m)

    This is the kora starting day. You will drive to Tharboche and begin the kora to Diraphuk. Overnight stay will be in a tent camp.


    Day 19  Mt. Kailash

    In Diraphuk exploring North Face of Mount Kailash and monastery.


    Day 20  Darchen - Tsaparang.

    Ride to Tsaparang.(Ride 213KM)


    Day 21 Visit Guge Kingdom. And back to Tsaparang.

    Day 22  Tsaparang - Gar (shiquanhe)

    Ride to the city of Ngari.(Ride 213KM)


    Day 23  Shiquanhe/Ali - Duoma

    Shiquanhe is a long and narrow town, surrounded by Mt. Gangdise and Mt. Kunlun. From here we head eastwards.


    Day 24  Duoma - Da Hong Liu Tan

    In this wilderness we should keep our eyes open for the Tibetan Wild Ass or Kiang. Here, if we are lucky, we'll see not just the odd few but herds of them.


    Day 25  Da Hong Liu Tan - Mazha

    We spend the day driving to Mazha village, or 'Tomb Village', the centre of Tuyugou which lies in a valley of the Huoyan Shan (The Mountain of Fire).


    Day 26  Mazha - Yecheng

    Yecheng is the name of both the oasis and the town. The rich loess terraces of the oasis are watered by the Tiznaf River and several smaller streams.


    Day 27 Yecheng - Kashgar

    Kashgar is an oasis city with approximately 350,000 residents. Kashgar's Old City is a traditional Islamic city


    Day 28 Kashgar

    Kashgar Rest Day


    Day 29 Kashgar to Torugart Pass.

    Ride to the border, exit to Kirghizstan.
